First of all, Americans are not consuming enough fruits and vegetables. Furthermore, children and adults should eat a cup of vegetables a day and a half a cup of fruits per day. We need to eat a diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables. Half your plate should consist of fruits and vegetables. Therefore, we should be eating two cups of fruits and 2.5 cups of vegetables each day. Eating a diet full of fruits and vegetables will improve your health as a result. In addition, fruits and vegetables are loaded with vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

Different vegetables have different benefits. In addition, the orange color found in carrots, pumpkin, and sweet potatoes contain the antioxidant beta-carotene. Tomatoes have a deep red color and contain the antioxidant lycopene. Lycopene helps maintain a healthy prostate.

Carrots are full of fiber and help maintain bowel health. Furthermore, carrots can lower blood cholesterol, and aid in weight maintenance. Carrots have an orange color from the antioxidant beta-carotene. The antioxidant beta-carotene is found in deep orange foods. Sweet potatoes, pumpkin, butternut squash, papaya, and cantaloupe have the antioxidant beta-carotene. Beta-carotene is converted to vitamin A. Vitamin A helps to maintain healthy eyes and supports your immune system. In addition, the antioxidant keeps your skin healthy and can prevent certain cancers.
