The third group was tested right after exercising. The fourth group did not exercise. The group was sedentary throughout the study.

Researchers found that exercise can help the brain. Furthermore, good results happened for the group that exercised daily on test day. The group benefited from a boost in BDNF. The other groups did not. Especially relevant, the group did not have a very rigorous training session. The exercise was a moderately paced walking session. So for four weeks the group was exercising on a low intensity mode.

Most of all, you get mental health benefits from constant exercise. Exercising on a regular basis is more important than the intensity. The group exercised for four weeks.
