  • Exercising is good for blood circulation:

In addition, exercise does more than get the blood pumping. 60 percent of the population can benefit from exercise. Scientists know that exercise is responsible for a gene that floods your cells. The gene is called a brain derived neurotrophic factor or BDNF. BDNF is a protein that helps with mental acuity, learning and memory.
  • The Study:

As a result, Dartmouth College hosted a study. Researchers tested four different exercise schedules. These schedules were tested on a group of sedentary healthy young men. As a result, the men were given a set of memory tests and mental health surveys. Consequently, the memory tests determine their psychological state of mind. The group exercised for four weeks. On the final day they tested the group. This was after four weeks. Another group exercised for four weeks. This group did not exercise on test day. Finally, a third group had one day of exercise. The third group was tested right after exercising. The fourth group did not exercise. The group was sedentary throughout the study.
  • Consistency is the Key:

Researchers found that exercise can help the brain. Furthermore, good results happened for the group that exercised daily on test day. The group benefited from a boost in BDNF. The other groups did not. Especially relevant, the group did not have a very rigorous training session. The exercise was a moderately paced walking session. So for four weeks the group was exercising on a low intensity mode.
  • Exercise is good for Mental Health:

Most of all, you get mental health benefits from constant exercise. Exercising on a regular basis is more important than the intensity. The group exercised for four weeks. Therefore, you don’t have to wipe yourself out. There is a basic goal for brain power. Exercise three days a week. In addition, be consistent. Get up and move your body and achieve a healthy brain.
  • Exercising delivers Oxygen to the Brain:

We know that exercise helps the brain. And we know that exercise improves blood circulation. As a result, good blood circulation delivers oxygen to the brain. It delivers oxygen at a faster pace. The fast pace leads the brain to sharper thinking. And a recent study found some more info about the brain. Furthermore, we know that elite soccer players exercise often. The soccer players tested above in cognitive ability. Creative problem solving, multi-tasking, inhibition and working memory were the benefits. In conclusion, understanding the genetic components is crucial. We need to understand what contributes to improved brain function after exercise. And we know that exercise affects the body. The brain is the reason to get out and get moving. Your brain, your heart and lungs and your body will thank you.
